I am very happy about that. Music from the nook and crannies of my life between 1983 and 1999. Music that didn't end up on an album. Featuring Steve Howe, Hazel O'Connor, Russell Bell & Toby Anderson.
My new album is evolving through the mist and will be released next year sometime.

Hi People,
Hope you are ok and doing well.
Push is now out through Burning Shed. I have always had a fondness for this album. I like the hard edge of it.
I have just endured the nightmare of my computer rolling over and dying.
I am now up and running again.
It is really going to help my writing. It is giving me such a buzz
The sound is better. Definitely
I played my old ARP on these two tracks. Step Forward & Swimming in Air.
My friend Pete Wood from Huddersfield fixed it up for me. Two of the sliders were broken.
I got Pete the tech job working with Ultravox in 1982. He actually programmed a sequencer for me. I used it on the tracks Sojourn, Memory's don't go, Riding White Horses, Happy Valley and Break down my Door. All recorded at Scorpio Studios London in 1983. Right in the middle of the Ultravox Quartet tour. We got a month off in February 1983 before we went to America & Japan. I am also using it on the Ultravox track Hosanna ( In Excelsis Deo ). I would have used it more on the Quartet album but he had not finished programming it and so it was too temperamental. Bit like me. I got married as well in February. Busy month lol.

Accidental Poetry of the Structure is available soon from Burning Shed. This is a CD release. The artwork will include some never seen before photos from the 2006 session I did with Mick O'Farrell. I think I hit a bit of a peak with this one. I had done fairly intense Tai Chi for five years and it seemed to give me lots of creative energy. I moved to TM the following year ( 2007). Tai Chi directed me to my mind. God Bless it! I still do Tai Chi though. It keeps a person supple.
Round about near the end of the making of this album I started reading about Buddhist Meditation and became inspired to write the track Compassion. Compassion is the central theme of Buddhist Meditation.

Here is an interview I did last year. Mechanical World is the name of the Spirit track I really liked when I was 18. It just made me want to compose in a band. It was a very exciting time. Much music experimentation!

Burning Shed have released my album Balletic Transcend. The sound has great clarity. Peter Dudley and I mastered it back in 2013 but Burning Shed seem to have some magic dust that they sprinkle on it. I really enjoyed listening to the music again with this extra high standard of sound.
So clear. I could hear every part in the music. Positive & Invigorating !

It seems that we are nearly getting back close to normal again. Soon anyway.

Just to remind you that my latest album The Brushwork Oblast comes with a signed postcard.
Also this is a documentary that I did that is now free to view.
I am in the ARP section near the end. The maker of the ARP Odyssey AIan R Pearlman is in the documentary.
I am not actually there with him but it is still quite amazing.
I can still remember reading his manual way back in 1977. At my flat in Herne Hill. Showing me string sounds, Violin sound, Clarinet sound etc. It was the use of the LFO to enhance and express the sound that got me. Emotionally. It reminded me of Vibrato on the Violin.

The only film footage of Ultavox! from the 70's is now going to be released on February 15th.
We wrote our music in a room at Kings Cross four nights a week and all day Sunday for three years prior to this performance. This film shows us at last being able to play it to the people. 3000 people! It was an honour to play at the Rainbow.
This was our first big gig.
Writing is my main thing and so it was inspiring to play Slip Away and see and hear the response from the people.
We're excited to announce our next project, Live At The Rainbow 1977. Some 44 years after we played at the Rainbow Theatre in Finsbury Park, we'll be releasing the previously unseen concert footage in weekly video drops.
Join us on February 15th at 8pm (GMT) to watch the the first video, the performance of previously unreleased track 'I Came Back Here To Meet You'. The whole set list will be released as a digital EP on March 19th, and includes unreleased tracks “T.V. Orphans”, and “I Won’t Play Your Game”.

Hi People,
Happy New Year!
It was a very eventful year.
The 40th anniversary of Ultravox! The bands first album.
I, after 43 years, decide to do what all the other members have done over the years. Dump it!
My Doppel album is doing well. Thank you music lovers.
I am at a stage now with my new music project where the whole feeling is that it has a mind of its own. Every time I come to work it just grows and grows. The inspiration is continuous. Flowing.
The five piano pieces that I wrote at the beginning of the year have now turned out to be the bones of the new album.
No longer piano pieces. The feeling is Synths & Sequencers. No Drums.
Now full on Synth tracks.
This is good!
